Bishop's Palace

Built of stone and steel for the railroad magnate Walter Gresham and his family, this famous house was designed by Nicholas Clayton, Galveston’s premier Victorian-era architect. The Bishop’s Palace is recognized as one of America’s finest examples of Victorian exuberance and Gilded-Age extravagance.


Menard Hall 

Longtime Galveston Historical Foundation Supporters Fred and Pat Burns restored Galveston's oldest surviving residence from near demise in the early 1990s. In 1996 Menard Hall was recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of the most important residential preservation success stories in the country.

Under its soaring thirty-five foot dome, over 200 guests can be accommodated on a three-tiered floor for seated dinners and buffets and more for cocktails and receptions. Wedding Ceremonies under the Duomo are magical and can seat up to 330 guests. The Duomo also features a dance floor and raised stage.
